Outpatient Drug Addiction Treatment in Los Angeles

Recovery from drug use disorder doesn’t always require stepping away from your life. Our outpatient programs provide structured, clinical support — at the level of intensity your situation calls for.

At Inneractions, we treat a range of substance use disorders — including opioids, stimulants, cannabis, benzodiazepines, and polysubstance use — with an individualized approach grounded in evidence-based therapy.

We assess each person at intake to determine the right level of care. Some people start in PHP for higher-intensity daily support and step down to IOP as they stabilize. Others enter at the IOP level. Both pathways include psychiatric evaluation and co-occurring mental health treatment when indicated.

Our clinical team uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches. Group and individual therapy sessions run throughout the week.

What Treatment Includes

  • Comprehensive intake assessment
  • Individual therapy with a licensed clinician
  • Group therapy — process groups and psychoeducation
  • Psychiatric evaluation when clinically indicated
  • Co-occurring mental health treatment
  • Medication management if prescribed
  • Family involvement when appropriate
  • Discharge and aftercare planning

Substances We Treat

Our outpatient programs address a wide range of substance use disorders. If you’re unsure whether we’re the right fit, call us — we’ll be honest about whether our level of care matches your situation.

Opioids

Heroin, fentanyl, prescription pain medications, and other opioids. We coordinate with prescribers on medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate.

Stimulants

Methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, and prescription stimulant misuse. Treatment focuses on behavioral patterns, triggers, and underlying mental health factors.

Cannabis

Cannabis use disorder is a real and treatable condition. We address dependence, withdrawal discomfort, and any co-occurring anxiety or mood disorders.

Benzodiazepines & Sedatives

Prescription benzodiazepine and sedative dependence. Medical stabilization prior to outpatient treatment is often necessary — we can help coordinate the right starting point.

Two Levels of Outpatient Care

Treatment can begin at the level of intensity your clinical picture calls for — and step down as you progress.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Multiple hours of therapy per week across several days. Clients return home each evening. Appropriate for those who need structure but have a stable home environment.

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Full-day programming Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The highest level of outpatient care — for those who need more support without inpatient admission.

Virtual Options

California residents can access our IOP and PHP programs fully online, through our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, from anywhere in the state.

Dual Diagnosis

Both levels include integrated mental health treatment. Co-occurring anxiety, depression, trauma, or other conditions are addressed alongside substance use.

Common Questions

Do I need to detox before starting outpatient treatment?

It depends on the substance and your level of use. Opioids and benzodiazepines often require medical detox before outpatient care begins. We screen for withdrawal risk at intake and can help coordinate a medical detox referral if needed before you start with us.

Do you offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT)?

We work with prescribers and can support clients who are on MAT as part of their recovery plan. If you are currently on Suboxone, methadone, or Vivitrol — or interested in exploring those options — let us know at intake so we can coordinate appropriately.

What if I have anxiety, depression, or trauma alongside my drug use?

That’s common, and we’re built to treat both. Our dual diagnosis program addresses co-occurring mental health conditions alongside substance use disorder — with psychiatric evaluation, medication management when indicated, and trauma-informed therapy woven throughout treatment.

Does insurance cover outpatient drug treatment?

Most major plans — including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of CA, Cigna, United Healthcare, and others — cover IOP and PHP-level treatment for substance use disorders. Call us and we’ll verify your benefits at no cost before you commit.
