Shelley Stevens has been committed to and involved in recovery work for almost 20 years. She became a certified counselor in 2005.

Her counseling style has been described as empathetic and strong. She has a lot of respect for people challenged with addictions, which is reflected in her work. She understands it takes courage to change and is adept at helping people discover and access the strength within them.

Shelley’s groups are dynamic, honest and provide an environment for self-exploration under the umbrella of recovery.

Hypnotherapist

Tanya received her Certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy and started her private practice in 2001 and since then has been working as an Instructor and as a Mentor to interning students at HMI, nationally accredited Hypnotherapy College, in addition to maintaining her private practice. With the addition of a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, her combination of skills and experience makes Tanya uniquely suited to guide clients through any challenges they wish to overcome and help them to realize and even surpass their personal goals.

DaMarcus L. Morton graduated with an A.S. from the University of Akron in Ohio where he studied Sociology. He continued his studies in Los Angeles, California where he was trained in Addiction treatment.

DaMarcus has served on the Training Advisory Board for Law & Ethics for Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Professionals in Seattle, Washington. In addition, he has been part of the Department of Social and Health Services in their Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse.

DaMarcus has been actively involved with various Family Service programs where he has made a tremendous impact with his knowledge of addiction and social awareness. He has a life coaching practice and works in conjunction with various treatment centers as well as treatment programs.

Shane Coyle, for 5 years, has worked in various treatment centers in the Los Angeles area. Currently, he is the Primary Counselor at Breathe Life Healing Centers, working with clients (individuals/groups) with an emphasis on dual-diagnosis and trauma.

For the past 2 years, Shane has been co-leading the Equine Therapy sessions at Creative Care, a dual-diagnosis residential treatment facility. Shane was introduced to Equine Therapy through a co-worker, and fell in love with it instantly. He attended the EAGALA training, and believes working with the horses is healing.

Prior, Shane was the Program Creator/Director of community outreach at Sober College (a facility treating young adults with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders). Shane believes that volunteering is a beneficial and powerful therapeutic tool in recovery. In addition, Shane led an Emotional Intelligence Program and facilitated process groups. Shane has interned at The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center as an addiction counselor to male adults- facilitating individual and group sessions, and leading classes on grief and loss, as well as, beginner book study.

Shane graduated Pierce College with a degree in Addiction Studies, and in the summer of 2013 became certified under California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE). Shane is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology, with a focus on trauma and addiction.

Bethany Dwyer has been coaching communication skills through comedy to teens and adults in rehab/mental health and trauma centers for over 5 years. Bethany is RDAT certified and incorporates the 12 step program into the program she created called Comedy Heals. 

Bethany is a seasoned stand up comic, transformational speaker and actor for over 13 years. She specializes in helping others find their voice, express their feelings authentically, awareness and trust of self and others, conquering fears of confrontation and public speaking along with communicating clearly in all types of relationships. 

Bethany is extremely passionate about helping others release the pressures of recovery through laughter and creating a safe environment so each person is free to be themselves.

Counselor

Rick Macrory is a certified Chemical Dependent Counselor who has had experience as a case manager and facilitator in many treatment facilities, as well as extensive knowledge on how to work recovery in his life.

Rick attended Point Loma College in San Diego where he studied Business Administration.

Rick has excelled in sports and developed the art of working as a team player. He brings to our program compassion, love of recovery and straight talk. He is passionate about recovery and about helping our clients change the direction of their lives.

Rick creates a trusting, vulnerable environment for our clients to navigate the most difficult emotional work.

Loree Cohen is a licensed clinical social worker that has extensive experience in the field of mental health and an innate understanding of addiction as well as individuals with co-occurring disorders. With over 25 years in the field she utilizes her knowledge, experience, humor, and creativity to help those suffering from addiction, abuse, depression, and anxiety.

Loree received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the prestigious University of Southern California and subsequently completed a rigorous certification program in human sexuality at UCLA. She has worked in a variety of capacities ranging from Clinical Director for a large psychiatric facility, to the development of out patient drug and alcohol programs as well as adult day health care programs for the geriatric population.

Loree’s passion to educate and assist with life change remains strong and she is excited about joining her two respected colleagues in their endeavor to provide a comprehensive out patient program for adults struggling with addiction.
